Arts and Crafts is a very friendly group with as much chat as crafting sometimes! We meet once a month and will have a topic each time which will change crafts throughout the year. Some months we will have a guest leading the session to hopefully introduce us to new crafts and art techniques. The timetable will be published in advance so that if the topic for that session does not appeal or inspire ( hard to imagine I know) then you can simply bring something with you which are currently crafting and join the chatter!
So fab to have Susie Finlayson visit our group this week! She brought along the new panel for the Galashiels Interchange. This is a project which has been funded by the Borders Railway Community Partnership to create a hand crafted link between the public transport hub and the Great Tapestry of Scotland Visitor Centre in the town centre. We were very excited to add our stitches to the Gala Water. Susie has promised to return with the panel next year so we can see how it is developing.
The timetable will be flexible depending on what group members want. Everyone enjoys a variety of crafts so if there is something you are interested in learning, or having difficulties with, just ask and we will do our best to help.
