Themed Book Group: The Sea

Every year we choose a theme around which we select the novels we will read. This year’s theme is The Sea. I compile a long list of works of fiction where the sea is a major factor and we will reduce this to a short list of 10 at our first meeting. We select books that are readily available and many can be borrowed from the library or purchased second hand.

The group meets on the third Friday of every month at my house, a mile and a half outside Duns. Lifts and car sharing are encouraged. We have an upper limit of 15 members so we can be seated safely. I will provide refreshments, although contributions in the form of cake or biscuits are welcome as I cannot bake to save my life.
